When patching isn't enough anymore, a full Siding Replacement clears every old panel, checks the sheathing underneath, and starts the wall fresh.
Every tear-off includes a moisture reading on exposed sheathing before new material goes up, not just a visual glance.
Hidden rot gets caught and priced before it's covered back up, not discovered years later as a bigger problem.
Full removal and disposal is handled by insured crews familiar with Cambridge, MA disposal and permitting requirements.
We carry the liability coverage a full tear-off project requires, not just a repair-scale policy.
Local estimators can typically get to your home within days, not weeks, for a full replacement quote.
We prioritize homes with visible widespread damage or active leaks ahead of routine scheduling.
Tear-off, disposal, sheathing contingency, and new material are itemized separately on one written estimate.
If hidden damage is found mid-project, you approve that specific cost before we proceed — no blanket change orders.
A proper replacement means the wall behind the siding gets checked, not just covered over with something new.
Tear-off includes a walk of the exposed sheathing before anything new goes up. We sweep magnetic nail-finders across the yard afterward so stray fasteners don't end up in a mower or a bare foot.
This step gets skipped by crews trying to move fast — it's the one that actually prevents repeat problems. We photograph any damaged sheathing before and after repair, so you have a record of exactly what was replaced.
A fresh weather-resistive barrier goes on before new panels, correctly lapped and taped at every seam. Seams get taped with manufacturer-approved tape rather than generic duct tape, which fails within a season or two.
New panels go up to manufacturer spec once the wall behind them is confirmed sound. Panel layout is planned before the first course goes up so seams land in consistent, less visible positions.
Rotted fascia and worn soffit panels get replaced alongside the siding so the whole exterior gets addressed at once. Soffit vents get sized for the attic space above, not just swapped for a matching look.
We'll ask a few quick questions to gauge scope before scheduling the on-site visit.
We look at attic and interior walls too, since moisture problems often show there first.
You get a written estimate covering tear-off, disposal, sheathing contingency, and full re-side material and labor.
Old material comes off, the wall gets inspected and repaired as needed, and new siding goes up with warranty registration at close.
They found rotted sheathing behind a section that looked fine from the outside — glad it got caught before new siding went over it.
Quote broke out tear-off, sheathing contingency, and new material separately, so we knew exactly what we were paying for.
Crew cleaned up every evening, which mattered since we have young kids playing in the yard after school.
Old house wrap was falling apart and they replaced it properly instead of just siding right over it.
